We are encouraging all those who feel the tiger should be conserved in the wild to join the massive tiger photo mosaic. A mosaic is being built with thousands of photos from tiger lovers from around the world for presentation to delegates from 171 countries at CITES (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna) in Holland, next month.

The Chinese government outlawed all domestic trade of tiger products in 1993. Now, however, they are receiving tremendous pressure from 'tiger farm' owners in their country to allow them to sell tiger products.

More than 4,000 captive-bred, semi-tame tigers live on these farms today. These farms, currently used as tourist attractions, are speed-breeding tigers in the hope that China will one day allow the sale of their parts and products. Re-opening even limited legal trade would reignite a demand for tiger products. It also would give international crime syndicates an easy avenue for 'laundering' illegally killed tigers from India, Russia and other tiger range states and make law enforcement nearly impossible. In essence, legal trade in tiger products from China's tiger farms would spark open season on tigers in the wild.

Please take a look at the tiger mosaic and add your photo.
