Friends of Operation Charm

Operation Charm welcomes the involvement of other organisations who want to help stop the illegal trade in endangered species in London by becoming Friends of Operation Charm. Some of our Friends are listed below. Please contact us if your organisation can contribute skills, expertise or can help us in other ways.

London Trading Standards Authorities (LoTSA)

LoTSA is an association of the 33 Trading Standards Authorities in London who are responsible for ensuring a fair and safe trading environment and protecting consumers within their council area and have come together to address issues which affect consumers, business and tourists in London.

Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine

FTCM is the largest association of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the UK. Patient safety is of prime importance, high-level quality Chinese medicines, qualified practitioners and better regulation of clinics are FTCM's objectives. We fully support the protection of endangered species and do not use or sell such materials.

London Chinatown Chinese Association

The London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA) is a not for profit association set up by Chinese businesses to promote Chinese culture and relations working closely with the Police, Westminster City Council, GLA and the Chinese Embassy. They also organise the annual Chinese New Year celebrations in Chinatown and Trafalgar Square.

Animals Asia Foundation

Animals Asia establish programmes dedicated to ending cruelty. The "Moon Bear Rescue" project has rescued 218 farmed bears, and is helping to advance the concept of animal welfare. Animals Asia have also signed an agreement with the Vietnamese government to rescue 200 bears, and work in conjunction with Traditional Medicine Practitioners to promote the concept of 'Healing without Harming.'

World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA)

The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is the world’s largest alliance of animal welfare organisations. We partner with our member societies, develop animal welfare campaigns and projects, education initiatives and to provide relief to animals affected by disasters.
